Tuesday morning, mommy came and got us and we packed up and drove an hour or so to see daddy at band camp. With lunches in our coolers, and crayons and books in the back seat, we headed out, listening to veggie tales and kids cd's. Adrianna wanted to know if she could have her daddy's ipod to listen to some tune.... (rock and roll probably ha ha) I didn't know what an ipod was till last year! I smiled....
We had mapquest in hand, but they did away with some of the streets listed so we called Brad on the cell phone and he directed us into the campus where Shawn had band camp. We had passed the big old sign but were too busy finding silky and getting drinks for the kids in the back. The girls saw dad and ran.. huggs and kisses.. I smiled... Shawn got the golf cart... probably more for me than Becky and we got a nice tour around. Girls in the back hugging me, and holding on to me.. We lost our lunches going over a bump, but they were easily put all back together...Lunch was on some benches since bees were everywhere! We headed out to Aunt Jen's about 30 min away. Adrianna did tell daddy that mommy got us lost!
Colin ran to me right away and I got a big squeezed... I smiled and of course loved it. Will they always love this old granny??? Adrianna says, grandma, you're old but you are NOT going to die soon. Out of the mouths of babes...
The kids got every toy that Colin owns out of it's place.. ran wild through Jens house... I smiled...
Clean up time... I sat still... and smiled....
Back in the car.. at 5:30.. with one pregnant diabetic mommy, two tired and hungry children and a smiling grandma. We stopped at McDonalds, only to find out their debit card machine was broken, and the they said no it was ok. No 4 piece nuggets.... so off we went to try somewhere else. Indiania must not sell 4 piece nuggets except in a happy meal, so we got a bigger size and split it. The girls were excited about our "picnic" in the car.. and up until the carmel dipping sauce for the apples, it was a clean meal. So glad it was Becky's car.. and papa would be too! We got gas AGAIN....
and off we go with screaming kids now, tired mommy.. and a smiling grandma. Eliza dropped her silky.. so I said to Becky why didn't she pull over and we could give it to her so she would be quiet....
I was still smiling... but not as happily! So, she pulls over gets out of the van, and stands by the passenger seat, only to be blown back into the car by several tour busses.. ( on the way to Holland???) All is quiet now, since grandma turns around in the van and say, quiet time! Adrianna says, I am not going to be quiet.. mommy says, we don't talk to our grandma like that, Adrianna says, I want to hug you grandma.. whew... DRAMA!
Now.... it is I have to go potty... really bad...... Ewww I smell something... I pooped my pants.... oh just kidding mom. Becky says, mom you can hold a cup and she can pee in the cup.. I said I never did that in a moving van! Plus, with all the gas coming out of there, I was NOT going to risk my hand getting warm!
We both say SQUEEZE! She was so good and patient till we got to the gas station.. in one of those bathrooms with a key! I smiled!
Eliza screamed for her mommy, so I got out of my side of the car and got her out of the seat, she was soaked!
Well, this is getting long.. and so much more to tell about the night... and the dog... and the face masks... but..... I smile because I realize that all too soon the clock will strike midnight..
And they'll be gone!

I'm glad we could make you smile with our crazy, busy life. I have to remember to do that more often!
It's just so hard not to be stressed!
We did have fun overall. I guess you have to put a humorous twist on things to keep it light-hearted!
What a grandma!!!
