We celebrated our 34th anniversary on May 10. Steve surprised me with a get away to the Shack.. loved it! While there, we met a young couple from Marysville who also went to Griswold Street Baptist and knew almost everyone there that we knew. It was such fun to sit and talk to them and be reminded of home. I was homesick after that and was thinking how quiet my life has become in the past few months. I've been so busy taking care of everyone else I forgot about me for awhile. Now there is so much time and nothing to do.. Anyway, the next day Steve surprised me with a lunch at Frankenmouth where he had invited dad and mom and his mom to join us. It was such a wonderful surprise, the whole weekend was great! He even packed car snacks in case I got hungry.. too sweet.. Thank you baby! The next day we spent in Indiana with Keith and Jen and Colin and everyone. It was nice to be together again. On the way home the "burb" was making chugging sounds like it could not get in the next gear and about a mile from home just chugged the rest of the way.. It literally broke down in front of our house.. and Shawn and Sarah and Dad had to push it into the driveway. God literally pushed us home! The transmission is gone and we had to have it towed away the next day.
Life is full of bumps in the road, but that makes the driveway smoother!
